Over the past several months, DataDENT has been facilitating the launch of the Data for Nutrition (DfN) Community of Practice. DfN provides community members with opportunities to share knowledge, experience, evidence, and questions related to how we can strengthen the nutrition data value chain at all levels—global, regional, national, sub-national, institutional. Currently in a soft launch phase, DfN hosted its first webinar on December 18, 2019 “New data for nutrition: Updates to the Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS)-8 Questionnaires.”
The webinar featured presentations from Sorrel Namaste (The DHS Program), Erin Milner (USAID), and Olutayo Adeyemi (University of Ibadan). Copies of presentations, responses to the question & answer session, and the webinar recording are posted in the community of practice. The webinar recording can also be viewed on Youtube here.
DfN will fully launch in March 2020. You can review the new DHS-8 questionnaires on The DHS Program’s website here and read about DataDENT’s role in the nutrition changes here.
